Respecting the Bones. Refining the Function.

An adaptive reuse project just finished this January at the Shops at Pierpont, Old Cuss is a community café and specialty coffee shop that wanted to embrace the character of the existing space while preparing it for the demands of a modern, hospitality-driven business. Revival is working within the building’s original bones—honoring its texture, proportions, and patina—while carefully integrating the infrastructure, layout, and flow required for daily coffee service and brunch, lunch & dinner operations. The approach prioritizes functionality without erasing history, allowing the space to feel authentic rather than overproduced. The result in progress is a thoughtful balance between old and new, where the existing architecture remains present and celebrated, and the business is set up to operate efficiently from day one.
